CHOOSING ( BONUS SOME TIPS CHOOSING FOR UNIV (SUBJECT)

Choosing may seem fun but also pretty hard, doesn’t it? Choosing seems fun as long as when the choices have no risk at all. But if each choices have risk, then you should think it carefully so u can choose ur choice which has the lowest risk. Maybe you consider me that i’m not a risk taker. But you know some people don’t like taking big risk like me and some people like fighter maybe they are brave enough to take risk.

You know when you faced two choices. What would you do? I’m gonna tell about my university choices to SNMPTN when i was in 12th grade.

First, i like economics.. hmm not like but i’m interested in economics, so at the time i planned that i wanted to study in UGM, one of the best univerisities in Indonesia, majoring economics. At first, my parents supported me but then they changed their minds especially my mother. She didn’t allow me oh.. not allowed but didn’t suggest me to study there. i was a little bit dissapointed, i asked my mother why. She said that the city where UGM is too far and the cost of living is more expensive. I think the distance doesn’t matter but maybe my mom is worried if i study there because there is no family in there, so yeah.

At first, i insisted that i should study in UGM. Like.. you know “gengsi” really matters. “When someone under you (e.g. grade) can study in that univ, why can’t you?” that simple question always stays in my mind. But as time goes by, i changed my choices, i still interested study in UGM but not as much as i used to.

I think i should obey my mother.  And i think that studying in UNDIP is not big mistake at all. I think all universities are the same. The difference is how we or ourselves’ behaviour in college. UNDIP is one of the best universities in Indonesia too.  Especially the faculty that i chose is one of best faculty in UNDIP too which is Economics and Businesses.

So i made up my mind i chose accounting for the first choice and economic development as the second choice in UNDIP. Just it.

Alhamdulillah i was so grateful that i was accepted in UNDIP majoring accounting by SNMPTN. My parents were really happy too and so proud of me. I think it was the best choice that Allah had given me. So i promised that i would take this opportunity wholeheartedly.

Tips choosing for university (subject) :

1.  Knowing what you really like and most interested in
2.  Knowing the skills and grades that you have. Recognize your own ability.
3.  Don’t be “gengsi”. Not useful at all in the end.
4. Make your parent’s suggestions as your consideration. Don’t refuse it directly.
5. Don’t be so ambitious.  Don’t be greedy.
6. Focus on 1-2 choices. Don’t take many choices. Or if you have many choices, eliminate them and choose that suit you and you’re most interested in.
7. We may have alternative in other university (swasta) beside SNMPTN. As an alternative.
8.  Search as many infomation about university as you can. Write down the timeline for registration. Jangan sampe telat daftar atau kurang informasi. It’s 2017 baby!
